On the morning of Oct 17th the County Community Garden Program Coordinator – Stacy Spriggs, and the Park Department will perform the fall inspect of our Community Garden.
– They will expect to see your plots PLANTED, the paths well maintained, and the shed and tools in good order.
– They will assess the common areas – those of you who signed up for jobs taking care of various common areas will want to be sure they are weed free and the mulch renewed.
– Additionally, they will inspect our on-site safety provisions (First Aid chest, Emergency Numbers signage, and fire extinguisher).
– They will also help us identify invasive plants; ask to see our pest control log, arrange for ant control on the periphery of the garden; provide guidance for the orchard trees; arrange for signage we may need.
